Getting started

Is Freight University really free?

Yes, the course is free: the training pages, the audio teachings and the library. The only paid step is the optional PLSP certification, which costs $125 and comes after the course.

Who is it for?

Freight brokers and agents, dispatchers, freight researchers, trucking companies and owner-operators. Everyone learns every skill, because the profession is one circle.

Do I need experience in trucking?

No. The training starts from the ground up: what a freight broker, dispatcher and carrier do, then the licenses, compliance and the deal, chapter by chapter.

Where should I start?

Join free, then open the training and start with freight broker training, Chapter 1. If you already work in freight, the training pages let you go straight to your seat in the circle.

Who runs Freight University?

Freight University LLC operates the platform, and Logistical Forwarding Solutions LLC manages it. Logistical Forwarding Solutions is a logistics consulting, education and development firm with 25 years in the industry.

The training

Do I need to log in to use the training?

Some training pages ask you to log in first. Your free account opens them, and you log in the same way as always, through our student login.

Where do the audio teachings come from?

They were recorded in live development classes: 54 full-length teachings, about 61 hours in all, placed on the training pages chapter by chapter.

Are the library books free?

Yes. All six volumes, five books, a white paper and proposed federal legislation, are free in the Freight University library. Pick a book, add your first name and email, and the PDF downloads right away.

Do I need an account to download a book?

No. Just your first name and email; phone is optional. The PDF opens as soon as you send the form, and we let Freight University know which book you picked.

PLSP certification

How much is the PLSP certification?

The PLSP certification costs $125. It is optional and comes after the free course, which never requires it.

How does the PLSP exam work?

After the free course you can sit for the online exam: multiple choice plus business scenarios, with a passing score of 85% or higher. You get a results call, your certificate by mail or download, and a public verification page.

Is the PLSP a real certification?

Yes. The Professional Logistics Service Provider certification is backed by Freight University, Logistical Forwarding Solutions and the PLSP organization, and every certificate has a public verification page with a unique verification number.

How do employers or customers check my certificate?

Your public verification page shows your credential with a unique verification number and QR code, made for resumes, employer checks and customer bids.

What if I don't pass the first time?

Your results call covers your results, your strengths and a study plan for a retake.
